    🌟This
is a woman’s purse size small athame, a Wiccan ceremonial knife or dagger with a sharp blade. This mini athame offers Protection From Evil Spirits with magical lichen (read below). The hand knapped obsidian blade is set with 2 white opal teardrops,
there is no color in these two
. The rhododendron wood is deadfall sourced from the Quehanna Wild Area of north central Pennsylvania.
🌟Rhododendron wood was used to make this
OOAK athame. It was a deadfall branch with lichen, some of which I left on at the hilt. The design in the wood is amazing and only seen like this with rhododendron wood, a very cool effect with the contrasting lichen. I found the branch off an old Indian path and later settler wagon road, now a wilderness woodland trail. It measures 6″ overall with 2 real white opal teardrops on a hand knapped obsidian blade and set in resin, then tied with artificial sinew. I do not see any color or fire in these opals. The wood/lichen is firmly covered in 2 coats of spray lacquer produced by the Lac bug of India.
    🌟
    Lichen Properties:
The people in Nepal believe that lichen wards off evil spirits. Lichen is as close to magic as a “creature” can be. Although it looks like a plant, they say it isn’t. Lichen is a chimera like being, a composite organism composed of many creatures, typically algae, yeast and fungi, which specializes in making habitat for plants. It is one of the few organisms that can take nitrogen from the air and process it into a form accessible through the soil, feeding plants. Lichen are at the center of the North’s food chain where nitrogen is scarce in the soil.
🌟 This athame will easily fit in a woman’s purse … I highly recommend it for city life self defense. The blade is very strong and sharp, not a pocket athame. In the cities you can’t carry a knife for protection (although our entitled and protected mugger population does carry weapons) but you can carry a ceremonial religious tool. 100% fact. You get 2 tools in one with this ceremonial Wiccan athame.
